Your Representation Skills

Think your presentation needs to be immaculate? Think again.

Trying to be perfect will only ruin your proposal.

Why?

First:

People want to deal with real people, not flawless robots. To illustrate: When you hear someone who is so exact with there enunciation, so programmed with per-arranged communication and so fluent without a single mistake, you might respond negatively. You sense that you are watching an actor, not a real person.

Second:

The pursuit for perfection creates a damaging position. Have you ever looked back on an issue that, at that time, seemed so demanding for your business success Your worry that less than a perfect presentation would threaten your job and profession.

What really happened, though? To your surprise, the results were not so dire after all. You accomplished your goal. So if you had berated yourself during the presentation for your imperfection, you can recover from these occasions when the words just wouldn't come out, or came out wrong. Our career will move along without a hiccup.

Third:

If you try to be 100 percent perfect with every presentation you give or with every meeting, your preparation will move so slowly that you will get very little accomplished with your other responsibilities.

My advice: Prepare quickly, without fear of mistakes. Then review your outline to check the organization, facts, illustrations, and predicted length. Not only will you get more done, you will work more creatively because you are not hamstrung by unreasonable fear.

Fourth:

Too much planning for a proposal might reduce your enthusiasm. By the time you address your clients, you have lost that enthusiasm, you felt when you planned your meeting.

Clients want to see the first time you had these thoughts, said these words and gestured like that, even though you have presented this dozens or possibly hundreds of times. They want to sense your energy and enthusiasm.

Fifth:

With this thought in mind, that our imperfections is what makes our life's interesting, challenging, and rewarding.

To sum up: Be real, don't dwell on your mistakes, reserve time for your other duties while you are crafting your business, avoid emotional burnout, and accept imperfection as a normal circumstance. Your clients will love the results, and so will you.
